Design and Materials of tapered roller bearings

The bearings are elements of machines designed to facilitate the shift between the parts of the machine to which they are attached and, in turn, bear burdens caused by the axle's own weight, shifts of gears, belts, chains, etc. A&S Fersa® is a specialist in the design and manufacturing of tapered roller bearings. These bearings consist of two groups of separable pieces, the interior composed of cone, ring, and roller cage and the outer ring.

Fersa Product

Thanks to rigorous monitoring of manufacturing standards of bearings, A&S Fersa® ensures the interchangeability between all internal and outer rings.

Tapered roller bearings are specially suitable for carrying important axial and radial forces acting simultaneously. Those bearings are detachable and make possible a separation of the outer ring from the inner ring with rollers. (Fig. 1)

Generators of the raceways converge in a common point over the rotation shaft of the bearing. This allows to assure a roller movement without any rollers slidings over the raceways. (Fig. 4)

It can change the relation between the axial and radial load bearing capacity based on the angle that formed the raceways with the shaft of bearing. (Fig. 2 and 3)

Those bearings are used in pairs and their mounting must be regulated in order to obtain the necessary clearance (preload) for an optimum functioning. (Fig. 5)

Additional possibilities between those bearings and other ones:

- High capacity of radial and axial load combined.

- Easy assembling and disassembling because of its separable type.

- Lower friction coefficient and higher working speed than another type of roller bearings.

- Our bearings have a better performance when outside due to the camber effect of the lubricant in its use.
