Axial tapered roller bearings are able to absorb high pure axial loads but, although they have a limited capacity for radial loads, their use is not advised in these cases.
Normally, they comprise two rings with tapered raceways, a set of tapered rollers and plate metal insert to keep the unit assembled during transportation and assembly in the application. In addition, they include grease for their proper operation.
Fersa markets this kind of bearing in mainly two formats:
• High-angle roller bearings WITHOUT a cage, suitable for oscillating applications and with a very low spin velocity.
• Low-angle roller bearings WITH a cage, indicated for steering pivots in motor vehicle applications and in cases where it is not necessary for the bearing to turn completely.
